Our little Christmas tree is looking a bit more respectable now. – Still things to buy for it though!
So many shops at Christmas bring out the same old decorations. The same poor old plastic Christmas tree and the tired looking decorations. You can guarantee many will have painted snowflakes on the windows and a great big Father Christmas. I know that is what we come to expect at Christmas for the window decorations but its ever so refreshing when you see a bit of creativity or a shop going against the trend! Over here in France the windows of Hermés do just that!
No trip to a winter french market is complete without a good raclette jambon. – This is a thick slice of fresh bread, Reblochon cheese and cured ham.
Wonderful French Christmas markets are full of delicious foods, mulled wines and Christmas gift ideas. If its a good market there will be lots of locally produced and handmade products. Christmas presents have all been bought this weekend!
Girls grey scarf with star pattern, handmade in France
Girls black scarf with little white star pattern, handmade in France.
We just love these children’s scarves with pretty star patterns. They are handmade in France and are limited edition pieces. Stars and star patterns have been a very popular feature in French childrens clothing this year and these chic and stylish scarves make the perfect clothing accessory. The grey scarf is made from 100% cotton white the black scarf with white stars is made from viscose materiel.
In France scarves such as these often take the name ‘foulard’. Foulard literally describes what is commonly known as a light neck scarf! In fact these foulards or neck scarves are big enough for any mums who might like to treat themselves not just their children. To pronounce foulard like the French, just say foo-lar and leave off the ‘d’. Now who says we don’t teach you anything here at the french blossom blog!
