Bartsch wallpaper………………………

If you are like me then you find it hard to resist adding wallpaper to empty walls in the home.  I am a big fan of wall stickers for adding an individual detail or a focal point but to get a whole wall dramatically covered in clouds or Dandelions can beautifully transform a babies nursery or any room in the house !

The Parisian company Bartsch launched their first collection of wallpapers in the Spring of 2012 and they are becoming a big hit! – The company was started by two cousins, Gala and Nicholas with their friend Victoria and they design these wonderful wallpapers directly from their atelier in Paris.

The Bartsch wallpapers are printed on non woven paper using printing methods from the 19th century!  These beautifully stylish wallpapers are so luxurious that they feel individually hand painted.  The dimensions of each roll of wallpaper is : 10 metres long x 52cm wide

There are three different designs to choose from in the first collection.  Either the ‘Cotton Clouds’, the ‘Moon Crescents’ or the ‘Parisian Dandelions’ – Each of the three designs also comes in three different colours.

I really hope that we will be able to see Bartch Paris wallpapers at French Blossom in the near future as we are big fans !

Back to school ideas…………………

Only a few days before the new school term begins!  I really hope you have all had a wonderful summer vacation.  At French Blossom we have put together a carefully selected group of School satchels, pencil cases and lunch boxes from French designers such as Bakker made with love, Mimi lou, Coq en Pâte and Linna Morata.

Some of our back to school ideas have also been selected by Magazines such as Elle and Milk, so it seems we are in good company with our choice of designers at French Blossom..

Back from a lovely week in the Cotswolds………………

Just got back from a lovely weeks vacation in England and Wales !

We spent several warm summer days enjoying the picturesque Cotswolds in the South West of England.  I took the above photo in one of the quaint little villages we stopped at to explore.

This lovely little cottage could easily be straight from a children’s fairy tale, with its perfect thatched roof, immaculately maintained garden and big stone dog sculpture, guarding the front door!  The soft yellow colour of the walls is a distinctive feature of all the building in the Cotswolds!

I hope, over the next week or so to write a few more posts about our summer break in the Cotswolds.  – We took so many photos and saw some really lovely places we would love to share with you.   Cotswolds (part I) coming soon…………..

My weekend dream break…………..

I could easily spend some lazy summer evenings out on this terrasse! All I need now, is to save enough money to actually do it !

Have a look at their website here.

Emilie et Ida – French childrens clothes

We are really pleased to introduce Emilie et Ida to the French Blossom boutique. Emile et Ida is a wonderful French childrens clothing brand that started in 2007.  Based in Paris, the Emile et Ida brand oozes a vintage and retro style, – evident in the (above) beautiful girls winter coat we stock.

The Autumn/Winter collection also has playful and fun pieces such as the moustache jumper and cloud with raindrops jumper.

Delicious chocolate cake………….

What a great treat yesterday!  Don’t ask me how Meriem made this great chocolate cake but it certainly was delicious. (I ate more than I should have so an extra 10 minutes running in the gym today for me)  I always find it hard to take just one piece of chocolate cake. One option could be to take one piece but make that piece a lot bigger – Don’t think that counts though !

It's a lovely hot summers day in France…………..

It’s lovely and warm in France.  The sun is shining bright and I am in need of something really cool and refreshing.  I just love homemade lemonade and this recipe I tried turned out great for me.

While searching for a lemonade recipe I also stumbled upon this healthy looking ice lolly, packed with colourful fruits.  – I think I will try to make these tomorrow !

The ingredients for the lemonade are three cups of cold water, one cup of squeezed lemon juice, 3/4 of a cup of sugar (although I put less as I don’t like it too sweet!) Ice cubes and lemon slices.  – I found the recipe at
